Pravin Masalewale (PM), was awarded "IT Power User Award"
at the Cyber India Online (CIOL) SMB Forum Networking event held at the Taj Blue Diamond,
Pune on November 22, 2005. The award has been instituted by India's premier IT portal,
CIOL to identify, recognize and award small and medium businesses (SMBs) who have derived
real business benefits from a successful deployment of IT.
Pravin Masalewale, with a turnover in excess of Rs. 45 crores, was identified for
the honour this year on the basis of its adoption and implementation of a customized
integrated ERP solution for all of the company's operations. PM manufactures and processes
over 8000 MT of spices and papads at their three automated plants in Pune district.
The present ERP system will enable the company to monitor, enhance and automate its entire
business process. The implementation has enabled PM to
- Minimize response time to business enquiries from customers.
- Created a robust decision-support system for all operations.
- Reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by minimizing maintenance and inventory costs.
- Enhanced the access, usability and efficiency of the Knowledge Management System.
According to Prashant Kurhade, Manager-IT at Pravin Masalewale,
"A comprehensive IT Plan was proposed in 2002 to Vishal Chordia, Director, PM,
who offered enthusiastic support to the Plan. Implementation was started in June 2003,
and the system went "live" from April 2005."
"We have deployed the iSMART business application suite developed by
Comsoft Infotech Pvt. Ltd., a Singapore based software development company having
development centres in Pune and Mumbai, " Kurhade informed today.
